For Clarification of my wise followers, Yes, its relays are electromechanical, not technically electronics, but you get the idea.
Make sure you have the FC or Car Directional Control Ring as they are different and not interchangable.
Installation:
Remove all items to expose the turn system column internals
Remove the Steering Wheel to expose the inside of the column
Remove the Turn Signal Arm
Using Flat head screw driver, remove the directional control ring. Be careful not to lose the “lock washer” under the DCR screw. Also recover the DCR spring bushing on the spring end. Also be careful not to lose the nylon spring roller on the end of the DCR
Unplug and Remove the Slide switch from under the dash. After removing, place in right hand and throw as far as possible.
Remove the Bowden cable from the 90 degree lever inside the column. Note location of Bowden cable as wires will replace.
Install the new Control Box; Plug the 6 position connector into the control box and install the control box with the towards the front of the vehicle.
FC: Place the Control Box into the slide switch slot and rotate the “hold-down” 90 degrees and tighten. Position the Connector end of the control box to the front of the vehicle.
Cars: Place the control box on the shaft near the old position and use the worm clamp and tighten.
You must remove the 90 degree lever as it will bind and “eat” the wire. We recommend you drill out or “Dremel” off the 4 brads at the top and remove the entire lever mechanism. (See pics)
Use a small amount of “Hot Melt Glue” in the location above to prevent the movement of the wire assembly. (See Pic).
Install the replacement Directional Control Ring (DCR) by first fishing the wire down the path of the old Bowden cable and the path shown below. The Wire has been pre-bent with heat to allow it to be easily installed where it will not interfere with the DCR. The steering shaft mask collar will need to be loosened to allow enough room for the cable to fit down the opening. Install the Wire Block in the place of the metal Bowden cable hold-down and tighten with the screw provided. I small piece of shrink tube is on the end of the DCR wire to ease in fishing down the hole.
Run the wire from the Wire Hold-down and route between the mast and the pillow block. You will notice that there are 2 terminals that will need a connector after passing through the pillow block. After ensuring the you have all the wire laid out properly, you can install the connector to the terminal.

Place the Bolt into the DCR and insure the lock washer is on the bottom. This will keep the DCR from getting loose as it gets used. If you don’t have the lock washer, secure one.
Lightly screw the DCR to the column leaving it loose so that you can lift the DCR with bushing over the spring. After the bushing is on the opposite side of the spring, finish tightening the DCR bolt. Using wheel bearing grease will help hold the bushing and washer in place, but don’t use too much.
Insert the Turn signal arm and check operation for any binding and you will have a distinct LEFT, RIGHT and CENTER. If you don’t, stop at this point to find out. Your bushing may have fallen out of place or the spring may have fallen down. If something does not feel right or is binding, rinse and repeat. DO NOT INSTALL THE STEERING WHEEL until you are satisfied with your work.
At the bottom of the wire leading down the column, it has 2 female connectors that must be feed into the 2 pin connector. Push in and make sure the “Black is to Black” and “Red is to Brown“. If you are color blind, this would be a good time to get a neighbor. Connect the 2 pin female to the 2 pin male from the control box. After testing signal lights directional, slide the provided heat sink tube and heat for a permanent seal.
The Tan wire is used to activate the 4 way flashers and will need to be grounded. We use the block between the mast and the dash, but strictly up to the final user.
Frequently asked questions:
Will it work with the standard flasher? Yes... all it does is replace the slide switch.
Will it support LED? Yes. Again, the flasher will need to be changed to support LED operation.
